He is watchful, attentive, and usually in motion when not under command.
Kenai was not an easy dog. He was strong, both physically and mentally, hard, unless he wasn’t, and had opinions about more things than not.
He was the exact dog I needed. He was everything I hoped for.
He was my best friend, he was my strongest support, he was my favorite teacher.
He taught me patience and consistency. He taught me to always be aware. He taught me to never think I know what will happen, that everything can change in the blink of an eye.
I truly thought Kenai would live forever, or at least as long as his mom, 16, because he was so damn stubborn. But alas, as he taught me, what you think you know is not always how things work out. We had so much left to do.
Kenai passed 2/15/2025, 2 months shy of his 12th birthday. He fought because I needed him to, but in the end we both knew we weren't strong enough.
